Ex-student of private college in Coimbatore ends life by suicide at college professor's house at K G Chavadi

Coimbatore: Velmurugan (24) who hails from Ammapettai in Salem district studied B.Com at a private college in Coimbatore. It is reported that Velmurugan was not on speaking terms with his parents and elder brother due to differences of opinion over a family dispute.

Velmurugan reportedly arrived in Coimbatore from Salem and stayed in the house of a professor who taught at the college where he studied at K G Chavadi in Coimbatore.

Velmurugan allegedly went into a room all of a sudden and ended his life by suicide, by hanging himself. The K G Chavadi police, who reached the spot, recovered the youth's body and sent it to the Coimbatore Government Hospital for post-mortem.

A case has also been registered and an investigation is underway. During investigation, it has been discovered that Velmurugan had taken the extreme step of suicide due to mental trauma owing to a treatment that he was undergoing for HIV, along with family disputes at home.
